Accreditations: The Standards Behind Your Care in Turkey

One of the most common concerns international patients express about medical travel is the question of standards. Is a hospital in Turkey held to the same standard as one at home? In the case of Askeroglu Health Group’s partner facilities — the answer is yes, independently verified.

The key accreditation that governs the hospitals we work with is JCI — the Joint Commission International. JCI is widely recognised as the most rigorous independent standard for hospital accreditation in the world. It was developed by the same organisation that accredits hospitals in the United States, applied to international facilities through a globally consistent assessment framework.

To achieve JCI accreditation, a hospital must meet over 1,000 measurable criteria across patient care, safety systems, infection control, surgical standards, leadership, and continuous improvement. It must undergo periodic re-assessment to maintain the certification. The process is demanding, and the result is a meaningful, verified assurance of quality.

What Accreditation Means in the Operating Room

For rhinoplasty patients, accreditation has direct practical implications. It means the operating room environment, anaesthesia equipment, sterilisation standards, monitoring systems, and emergency protocols all meet internationally benchmarked criteria. It means the anaesthesiologist who manages your care during surgery is working to the same standards of practice as their counterpart in a leading European or American hospital.

It means that if anything unexpected occurs — as in any surgery, unforeseen events are possible — the facility has the systems, equipment, and trained personnel to manage it effectively. This is not a given in unaccredited facilities. In JCI-accredited hospitals, it is a verified capability.

Beyond Accreditation: Our Own Standards

Askeroglu Health Group adds a layer of internal quality assurance on top of the accreditation standards of our partner hospitals. We regularly assess the patient experience, monitor outcomes, review feedback, and maintain the relationships with surgeons and facilities that allow us to respond quickly if any aspect of care does not meet our expectations.

We do not work with facilities simply because they are available or affordable. We work with them because they consistently deliver the standard of care our patients deserve — and we are prepared to change partners if that standard is not maintained.

For patients considering rhinoplasty or any other procedure through our agency, our accreditation commitment represents a genuine assurance: that the care you receive is not a compromise, regardless of the difference in cost compared to your home country.
